Frequently Asked Questions

The insurance company says I have to take my repairs to another facility.

You have the legal right to choose a repair shop to fix your vehicle. When reporting your claim, immediately let your insurer know which shop you’d like to repair your vehicle. Your insurer should not attempt to influence your decision regarding where to have your vehicle repaired and is obligated to cover the reasonable costs of repairing your vehicle to its pre-accident condition no matter where you have repairs made.

Do I need an estimate before selecting a body shop?

No, this is unnecessary and not a required step. There is no law requiring you to obtain an estimate before you choose a shop. When you select a body shop, we highly recommend you choose a shop you feel comfortable with and trust based on that facility’s merits, such as integrity, reputation, and credentials. Remember, it’s your vehicle and the choice of a body shop to repair it is your choice to make.

When will my car be done?

There are several factors that influence the length of repairs; additional damage found after teardown, part availability, receiving damaged or ill-fitting parts (just to name a few).  In general, we will be unable to give an exact time and day of completion but can generally we can give an approximate time.

When is my deductible due?

If a deductible is owed it is due to the shop at the end of the repairs.

Will my rates go up when filing a claim?

Any questions regarding potential rate increases should be directed to your insurance agent. This can vary depending on who was at fault, the circumstances of the loss, and your insurance policy.

Will I have to pay for towing?

The cost of towing, when necessary as the result of an accident, is usually covered as part of the loss. The body shop will include this expense in the estimate that is submitted to the insurance company.
